Cubs go carol singing

Birchwood Cub Pack recently entertained shoppers by singing Christmas carols at Waitrose, St Albans.

Stationed next to the checkout, they sang five festive songs, raising £107.88 for Group funds.

The event was such a success that Waitrose has invited the Cubs to perform at its Christmas evening; this will take place at the store, on Maine Avenue (off King Harry Lane), on Thursday 12th December between 4.30 and 5pm.

As well as raising funds on the night, Waitrose is to reward the Cubs by adding 1st Park Street Scout Grop to its Community Matters scheme, where customers use tokens to show their support for three local charities, each of which receives a share of £1000 based on the number of tokens they earn.
