Sleepover at Warwick Castle

14 lucky Birchwood cub scouts joined a total of 170 cubs from across the region for an exciting overnight stay at Warwick Castle.

YouFunDay (Leicestershire Scouting), organised a unique event for the lucky cubs involved, who arrived in time to enjoy dinner on the grass overlooking the river Avon, evening entertainment, story telling, a talk about medieval weaponry by Sir Samuel, and a display and talk about the use of the long bow by Sir Phil.

After an informative and enjoyable evening, the cubs enjoyed an overnight stay in tents, before another exciting day involving a bird of prey display, a tour of the castle, and the opportunity to explore the famous castle maze! Cubs climbed the towers and battlements, explored the rooms including the time tower, watched the mighty trebuchet be fired, and even had a go at long bow archery themselves.

Yet another unforgettable experience for our cub scouts.
