Cubs join 'yellow fish' campaign to keep St Albans water clean

Following their previous involement with the campaign, Birchwood Cub pack once agian took part in the national environmental ‘yellow fish’ campaign to highlight the dangers of water pollution to our environment.

The project, to raise awareness about sources of water pollution, involves stencilling a yellow fish symbol beside drains to remind people that any waste entering them may go directly into the nearest stream, river, lake, canal or other waterway - causing pollution and killing wildlife.

The cubs enthusiastically set to work spray painting the yellow fish symbol next to drains in the local How Wood area as well as dropping leaflets to provide more information.

Well done Cubs - you have inspired other scouting groups around the country to do the same!
