A sad farewell to our leaders
It was a sad week and final week of the summer term, as two sections bid a fond farewell to their leaders / assistants.
Wolf cub pack said goodbye to two assistants in Jon Stacey and Victoria Sweeney. In Jon's time as section assistant he has effortlessly carried out many leader duties including the organisation of meetings and events, all of which have been enjoyed and very well received by the Cubs. Victoria had come to Wolf pack having been a leader of Thumpers Beaver Colony until the birth of her new baby and although she took a step back from her leadership responsibilities to dedicate more time to her young family, Victoria became the group's secretary / waiting list coordinator and Wolf pack's section assistant.
Conkers bid a sad farewell to one of their leaders, Annelize Fagan. Annelize joined Conkers 3 years ago along with two other parent leaders, effectively helping to save the beaver colnony that had been closed down due to a lack of volunteer leaders the term before. Conkers has flourished under their leadership, going from 15 children to 24, with a fun and varied programme of events and activities.
The group's GSL Christopher Holliss thanked all leaders and assistants at the end of term, stating 'It's humbling to witness the time and dedication that these three have given to the young people within the group, giving them all life-changing skills for life. He then presented on behalf of the group flowers and wine glasses to the ladies while Jon recieved a glass tanked.
We would like to sincerely thank Jon, Victoria and Annelize for their contribution, and wish them all the very best for the
