St. George's Day Parade 2018
1st Park Street Beavers, Cubs and Scouts joined over 1,000 other Scouting members from across St Albans District for the annual St George's Day Parade in April.
The parade route started at the St Albans Civic Centre, ending at the Abbey orchard at the front of St Albans Cathedral. Scouting members walked the route proudly, with parents and spectators lining the route to enjoy the traditional parade celebrating St. George's Day.
Once within the orchard, the general public were entertained with a play about the life of St George, given by a local acting company, before all St Albans District scouting members renewed their scouting promise in turn across Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and leaders.
As always, the attending 1st Park Street members were a credit to their pack, demonstrating impeccable behaviour throughout. Thank you to all those who attended to support this important traditional annual event, carrying section flags and being a part of the parade. Thanks as always to the parents who attended to support their children, and of course to the leaders for helping to make the event another great success.
This year's flag bearers for Park Street with the important task of carrying the heavy flags during the parade were:
Cub packs: Isobel G for Birchwood and Lucas M for Wolf
