Tree planting at Heartwood Forest

For the fourth year running, Birchwood cub pack joined the tree planting event at Heartwood forest, planting the final trees and bushes as part of The Woodland Trust's tree planting project. Four cubs, Sophie H, Henry B, Leo P and Mateuz W all took part.

Heartwood Forest is a vast, beautiful new forest which is already a great place to visit but once completed will offer some amazing features. Already, 500,000 trees have been planted, and along with the pockets of ancient woodland, new wildflower meadows, a community orchard in the making, and fantastic wildlife, it’s set to become one of the Trust’s Top 10 destination sites.

Each year the general public and community groups have been invited to come along on nominated tree planting days to help grow the vast new forest that will be home to abundant flora, fauna and wildlife in the heart of Heartfordshire. Beavers, Cubs and Scout packs have been delighted to be involved every year, and we look forward to enjoying the fruits of our labours for many years to come.
