District Archery Competition
On Saturday 11th March 8 members of Birchwood Cubs competed against 13 other teams for the annual District Archery competition. After some time spent practising their archery skills, each cub was given six arrows, with the highest scoring team competing for the coveted title of the archery winners.
The 8 cubs were split into two teams, and all members put in a great effort, with a brace of golds, 'bull's eyes' and reds between them. They even managed to fit in a spot of air rifle shooting at the end!
Overall competition winners were the 4th St. Albans. Birchwood Team 1 (Emily, Harry, Sophie and Katie) came 13th, and Team 2 (Oliver M, Joshua, Samuel S, Lucas) came 7th. Group leader Chris Holliss commended the group for their excellent conduct and sportsmanship throughout the event. Well done to all cub scouts for a sporting effort to be proud of.
