Fire and Ice weekend, January 2017

11 brave scouts from Colne troop joined over 1250 other scouts, guides and explorer scouts braving the icy conditions over the weekend of 13th – 15th January, to take part in the Fire and Ice activity weekend at Tolmers Scout Centre.

Despite the very cold conditions (down to -4C on Saturday night) everyone had a fantastic time. The Scouts took part in a range of activities including abseiling, archery, rifle shooting, rock climbing, Argocats (amphibian all-terrain vehicles), zip-wire, gravity defying Astro fairground ride (a real fave!)

and laser tag to name just a few! As well as the official activities, quite a few of the scouts enjoyed the mud (as parents will no doubt already know from the state in which they came home), and were often seen splashing around and generally having a fantastic time!

We took advantage of the onsite catering facilities, and time saved on cooking and cleaning meant more time having fun! The quality as well as the quantity of food was really excellent. Can't wait for next year!
