Remembrance Day Parade 2016


On 13th November 1st Park Street Beavers, Cubs and Scouts proudly turned out in their blues and greens on a cold but bright Sunday afternoon for the annual remembrance day parade at the Park Street War Memorial. Members from all 1st Park Street groups gathered at the Park Street village hall, from where the parade started, led by the flag bearers from all the local scout / guide and cadet groups.

The groups' flag bearers for this year were; Maxwell S. -Thumpers Beavers, Shea F - Conkers Beavers, Finn H. - Birchwood Cubs, Leo B. - Wolf Cubs, Scarlet C. - Colne Scouts, Francesca ST - Ver Scouts

After the 2 minute silence, poignant speeches were made and hymns sung, before the traditional laying of wreaths. Wreaths were laid on behalf of 1st Park Street by Rhianna B. from Ver scout troop with an honor guard of Mason M. from Wolf cub pack and Oliver M. from Thumpers Beaver colony

1st Park Street GSL Christopher Holliss commented after the service on how pleased he and all the groups leaders were with the group turn out to take the time to show their respect. Their impeccable presentation and behaviour from each and every member was a credit to the group. Well done and thank you to everyone who took part in this important annual event.
