Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Bob the Builder has the right idea with his well-known mantra raising awareness among our younger generation of the importance of recycling.

Our groups and clubs are always thinking about how we can reuse equipment and materials that may no longer be needed by others, but could be put to good use by our children and leaders. We've been lucky enough to have a number of very useful donations from local organisations including wooden fencing donated by Higgins Construction (local developer building new homes on London Road), who also very generously delivered the fencing to us for free.

Bricket Wood Auto Services Ltd have also kindly donated two oil drums to be used for making alter-fires, allowing all our group's sections to cook on open fire safely both at the scout hut and to be taken away on camps as required.

Thank you to all the parents who have kindly donated pots and pans and other homeware to your groups - these are gratefully received and always put to good use.

If you have anything at home you no longer need, or if you work for a company that may have some spare materials or equipment it's looking to offload - fridge, noticeboard, tools, garden supplies etc. please let us know. We may well be able to take it off your hands and make good use of it for your children's upcoming activity sessions.

Please do spread the word to your friends and family - we're happy to help do our bit to reduce waste, and more than likely we can make good use of your donations to help us run low cost activities for the benefit of all the children in our groups.
