High Jinks with the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire

On Monday 28th September the Cubs of Birchwood Pack enjoyed a chance encounter with the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire – Mr Jonathan Trower, Mayor of Dacorum – Mr Gbola Adeleke, and a number of other high ranking members of Hertfordsire society. Whilst our Cubs waited to start their Bell Boating activity the group of gentlemen visiting the charity run boating club nearby, took the opportunity to make their way over to our group for a friendly chat. Taking time out of their busy schedule they spoke with the Cubs about their badges, their enjoyment of scouting and even took some time relating their own memories of scouting from their youth. It was a very exciting encounter for all the cubs present and having the importance and enjoyment of scouting reinforced by individuals as prominent as the Mayor and High Sheriff left the group and leaders present feeling a great deal of pride in our movement and in our Cub pack who conducted themselves impeccably.
